5800买回来后就一直当“电话”和“地图”使，实在是一种浪费于是乎，开始google——我可以在5800上面安装另一个操作系统？

安装在N900 上的Maemo虽然更适合触摸屏的nokia，但是并不意味着你可以在5800上面安装它。
<div style="margin-left: 40px;">The 5800 is based on ARM11 and uses the ARM 6 instruction set. The N900uses ARM Cortex-8 which uses the ARM 7 instruction set. So maemo willnot run on a 5800 or actually any other device that does not run ARM 7architecure.
linux is pretty adapable to all processors is often what is usedinitially for processor development. But linux is not an embeddedoperating system so you need to develop a CMOS, drivers for all yourinput and output and wire it all up and you would have it.
